Short Stack Brisbane show sold out; supports announced!
Posted Monday, October 26 2009

POST THIS TO MY:

After their Sold Out July tour “Sway Sway Baby live” and their #2 ARIA Smash Hit, Short Stack are again hitting the road in December for their third national tour in support of the band’s debut album Stack Is The New Black which stormed the No1 position on the ARIA album chart in its first week of release August 09.

Tickets selling Fast! Brisbane Tivoli (Dec 16) SOLD OUT.... get your tickets for other shows before they go.

Supporting Short Stack will be Adelaide band The Sundance Kids, Sydney new-comers Die For You and Fair Verona (Doyalson show only).

The Sundance Kids have had an incredible six months having first burst onto radio around the country in March this year with their debut single “Solutions” which peaked Top 10 on the National Australian Artists ARIA Chart. July saw the bands second single “Drive Away” serviced to radio and it’s currently shaping up to be the bands biggest single to date steadily climbing up the national airplay charts. The Adelaide outfit have also been impressing audiences around the country with their live performances supporting the likes of Evermore, End of Fashion and most recently The All American Rejects.

Introducing Die For you – new electro rock sydney band opening support for all tour dates; www.myspace.com/dieforyoulive.

Short Stack (Shaun Diviney guitar / lead vocals, Andy Clemmensen bass / vocals and Bradie Webb drums / keyboards) are undoubtedly one of the hottest young bands in Australia right now, proof enough from the bands recent Channel [V] Oz Artist of the Year win where they’d received over 400,000 votes, along with their current single “Sway Sway Baby” this week becoming the highest debuting single on the ARIA Singles Chart this year entering at #2.

The teenaged three-piece from New South Wales’ Central Coast has gone on to do what no other Australian music act has successfully achieved – used the combined powers of SMS, YouTube and MySpace to amass a following that’s growing by the second; racking up over four million plays on MySpace, with over one million plays for their second single Princess alone, and on top of that, being Australia’s biggest band on YouTube with over 2.5 million views of the Short Stack TV series and video clips.

In between HSC exams and gigs supporting the likes of The Veronicas, Simple Plan and Good Charlotte, work began on Stack Is The New Black with all the songs written by Shaun. “We never thought we had any good songs until we got signed and people were like, ‘These are actually quite good’,” Shaun says. “For us, more than anything the album is a timeline because we have songs on there that were written when we first started out then songs we wrote a week before the album was recorded. It’s really cool to see how we’ve progressed as a band, and how we’ve grown up.”

Stack Is The New Black covers a range of styles – from epic ballads to fast and furious electro-tinged rock anthems. “It’s got a song on there for everyone depending on what genre you like,” Andy says. “When you listen to some albums, you can only listen halfway through before you get over hearing their voice or hearing the same sounds but I think ours you can listen to the whole way through because it changes up so much.”
