Eskimo Joe debut #1 on ARIA Albums chart; Bob Evans supports!
Posted Tuesday, June 9 2009

POST THIS TO MY:

Eskimo Joe’s fourth album, ‘Inshalla’ has stormed in to the ARIA Album Chart at #1 and has sold in excess of GOLD sales in its first week of release. Their hit single, ‘Foreign Land’ continues to hold its position as the #1 Most Played Australian Song on the National Airplay Charts.

Eskimo Joe celebrated the fantastic news in their beloved hometown, Perth, and vocalist Kav Temperley said the following about the chart result: “We’re honoured to be in this position on the charts and owe it all to our great fans, some who have been with us through our entire career and others that have just discovered us recently”

Ed St John, President and CEO, Warner Music Australia said he was “thrilled” with the news. "This is a great day for Eskimo Joe and everyone who has worked so hard to make this album a hit. It’s a real vindication of this amazing band and the wonderful music they’ve created. Eskimo Joe has delivered the album of their career and it seems like everyone recognises this as an indisputable fact.”

Rolling Stone Magazine declared the album worthy of 4 stars and said the following about the #1 album: “Inshalla has everything: memorable, epic choruses, experimental sounds, wailing guitar heroics …No matter where you decide to lump Eskimo Joe, their musical output remains unchallenged. Inshalla is a solid rock album that stands well alongside any number of classic Aussie records. If Rob Thomas, Chris Martin and co, weren’t quaking in their boots after the Esky’s multi-platinum Black Fingernails, Red Wine, they should be now.” (Rolling Stone – July 2009)

Shows are close to selling out across the country with a second Melbourne show announced this week so be sure to get your tickets for their north Queensland dates before they sell out!

The band are also thrilled to announce the inclusion of fellow West Australian, BOB EVANS as their very special guest on their upcoming ‘Inshalla Australian Tour’ - tickets on sale now from the venues.
